LITURGICAL THEOLOGY
Professor: Dr. D. E. Chase
Credits: 3

Liturgical theology is the branch of Christian theological studies that seeks to articulate anew the theological meaning of the acts of Christian worship and to enlighten theologically the development of liturgical renewal in the church. As such it draws not only on the record of Christian worship and the disciplines of systematic and dogmatic theology, but also on the contributions of biblical studies that illuminate both on the most primitive history of Jewish and Christian worship and on the literary function of the canon of Scripture as a liturgical text.
