The Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degree is a graduate-level professional degree for those who wish to pursue an additional year of advanced coursework focusing on a particular academic discipline or ministerial and other religious leadership practice.
The STM is extremely customizable and includes eight advanced courses of the student’s choosing. For those pursuing the Disciplinary Concentration, there is a thesis option which requires consent from a faculty member willing to supervise the thesis. The STM is perfect for graduates anticipating doctoral study. The STM is ideal for those who wish to strengthen their knowledge or skills to the benefit of their journey in ministry, the academy, or both, without the commitment to a lengthier program.
The Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degree provides advanced study for:
- Aspiring scholar-teachers preparing for doctoral studies.
- Scholars who wish to deepen their training or engage a new field.
- Ministers who want to enhance their competency in a specific area of study or professional practice.
